Humus
Humus is a live modular instrument that remembers what you play. You wire organisms - instruments, effects, sequencers and visuals - into a patch, play it with your hands, your controllers or your camera, and the soil keeps it: one button holds the whole performance, audio and gestures alike.
These pages are still growing. Humus is in beta and so are its docs: some corners are not written yet, and a few may lag behind the app. If something reads wrong, the app is probably right, and we would love to hear about it.
Start here
- Getting started - get Humus, find your way around, save your first patch.
- Want the build? Open the account page and type your email. A six-digit code is mailed to you; type it in and the newest build for your platform is there, with your licence beside it. If the mail is slow, look in the spam folder. Or take the source from GitHub and build it yourself.
Go deeper
- The user guide - one page per part of the app.
- Every organism documents itself - the ? on its bar, or the Organisms page on this site.
- File ▸ Examples in the app opens ready-made patches to take apart. The menu is still filling up, a few more with every release.
- The organism SDK - write your own instruments and effects, and build from source. The source is on GitHub.
