A riser that never arrives: twelve short delay lines sweep as comb filters through the same octaves without ever leaving them.

Six lines per channel, each only milliseconds long and each mixed back against the dry signal so it rings as a comb. Every line sweeps its comb through the same span of octaves, but each starts at a different point and fades in at the bottom and out at the top under its own gain window; six windows evenly spread sum to a constant, so nothing seams and the pitch climbs forever. Time and Range set where the comb lives, from a whistle at short times to a fluttering body at long ones. Random rolls Rate, Time, Range, Feedback, Damp, Spark and Spread; Mode, Mix and Level stay put. Cord a pad, a Drums organism or a whole Mixer bus through it.
Parameters
Mode
Rise climbs, Fall descends, and Free rocks back and forth across the span instead of wrapping.
Rate
How fast one line crosses the whole span, in Hz. The default takes about eight seconds per sweep.
Time
The shortest delay a line reaches, in milliseconds: the top of its climb.
Range
How many octaves below Time the line starts.
Feedback
How long each comb rings. Low colours the sound and passes on; high turns each line into a narrow resonant tooth with a pitch of its own.
Damp
Rolls the top off inside the feedback loop, so long tails go warm instead of shrill.
Spark
Bunches the line spacing. At zero the lines are spread evenly and the rise is smooth; higher, lines land on top of each other and their teeth reinforce. The offsets are fixed, so a setting always gives the same result.
Spread
Offsets the right channel from the left, so the two sides climb out of step and the image widens.
Mix
Dry against combed. The comb wants both halves, so the middle is where it lives.
Level
Output level.
